The Pre-licensing course may be taken either in a classroom or via virtual/distance learning. If you choose to opt for the classroom option you will be awarded an MV-278 Pre-licensing Course Completion Certificate. All courses have the same curriculum, no matter which version you choose. When you have successfully completed your course, the instructor will report your completion to the DMV automatically and you won't need to show the certificate at the time of taking the driver's test.
