You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot hoover and mop is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient.
