Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
