This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance.
