GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy- and medium-duty all-electric vehicles, including high-floor and lower-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate many different bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, which results in better payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one interior wall structure and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks allows for seamless sanitation, better temperature control and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission freight or passenger transport.

GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will enable fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.

We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours. We found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 can be used to block road noise and wind while driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is quite quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged in three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes the green power electric mobility scooter, cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.

greenpower scooter produces about 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means they'll be eligible for federal assistance in transit. We will be following the AV Star as it begins its demonstration tour in later this year.
