Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item (my homepage) is an item that makes certain Pokemon change. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a photo disc and is sometimes offered as a reward in Pokemon GO events.

Inserting an upgrade component will destroy the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be used in gathering tools) and Enchantments, which can be removed and then reinserted.

Insignias or enchantments, as well as prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. a Radiant Insignia would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components added to an equipment piece will be displayed in the item upgrader's tooltip.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be leveled up through the use of Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more challenging the dungeon is, the greater the amount of Glyph experience that you will earn. Once a Glyph is at level 15 and is upgraded, it is upgradeable at the Glyph Upgrade Altar. Upgrades to a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.

Once a glyph has been leveled up to the desired level You can activate it by selecting it and then pressing the "enchant" button. The Glyph that is created will grant its stated benefit, and will also boost other nodes within its area on the Paragon Board. It is important to place glyphs where they can best benefit your build, and that is why it's a good idea to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Rare glyphs may also offer double bonus if certain conditions can be fulfilled.

If you're having difficulty finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to display the panel in a number of perspectives. Each of these views displays the Glyphs in a different font. You can narrow down the list of glyphs by choosing an option beneath "Entire Font". For example, punctuation only displays punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the options to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling

However it's important to remember that not all set items are good candidates for upgradation. Certain sets, like the FB Sorc Whistan's shield and Naj's puzzler staff are already Exceptional in their own rights and don't need upgrading. Certain items, such as Goldwrap and Whistan's Shield (both BiS) that are frequently used may be benefited by an upgrade to boost their performance.
